Virginia Hilden

Virginia Lee Hilden, 89, of Texas City, went home to the Lord and her beloved husband, Buddy, on Wednesday, February 28, 2018.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 6, 2018, at St. Mary of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Dickinson, under the direction of Emken-Linton Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at the funeral home at 5:00 p.m., Monday, March 5, 2018 with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m.

Vi was born on January 7, 1929 in Hutchinson, Kansas. As a child she moved to Texas with her family and settled in Texas City where she met the love of her life, Buddy and they raised their five children. They were married almost 63 years when Buddy passed.
Vi was a devoted Mother/Wife and Co-Owner of Buddy's Plumbing. After retirement, she and Buddy traveled the world enjoying each other's company. She was a very creative person, enjoying a wide variety of crafts including embroidery, sewing, painting, playing the organ, and collectables. Her greatest skill, embroidery, was taught to her by her mother at the age of 4, and she created many beautiful pieces which were given as gifts to others throughout her life.

Vi is preceded in death by her beloved Buddy; her parents, James and Theresa Clark McMullen; siblings, James McMullen, Margaret McMullen, Dwayne McMullen and granddaughter, Sara Luerson.

Survivors include her children, David Hilden, Terry and husband Dalton Fails, Billy and wife Diane Hilden, Axle and wife Stephanie Hilden, and Sonny and wife Alana Hilden. Her grandchildren include Michael Hilden, Adriel Dazey, Gareth Holden, Jackie Hilden, Jonathan Hilden, James Hilden, Nick Hilden, Aaron Hilden, Kriste Smothers, and Ted Hilden. Great grandchildren are Kyra and Collier Williams, Corbin Macik, Jensen and Sienna Hilden, Ellie Hilden, Codey Hilden and Aaron and Alyssa Smothers.


Pallbearers are Kyra Williams, Ted Hilden, Johnathan Hilden, James Hilden, Nick Hilden and Aaron Hilden.
