Vera Wellman

Vera Louise Knight Wellman, 79, a longtime Texas City resident, passed away Monday, April 2, 2012.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, April 6, 2012 at EmkenLinton Funeral Home in Texas City, Texas. Visitation will be Friday, from 10:0011:00 A.M. Burial will be held at Galveston Memorial Park in Hitchcock.

Mrs. Wellman was a member of the Texas City Garden Club. She loved playing golf and for the last 5 years, she worked at Toms Thumb Nursery in Galveston.

She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Coon and husband Richard grandchildren, Rebecca and Kurt Capistran, Jarred Coon niece, Patricia Moser nephew, George Gele extended family, Patty Nunez, Jean Whitworth, Susan Knight Cruse, Camille Knight Silver, Cathy Knight Odette, and Bette Shumake.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the nurses and staff at Houston Hospice for their care.
