Toni Rodgers

Memorial Services for Mrs. Toni Blain Shannon Rodgers, 72, of West Monroe, LA, will be 4pm Saturday, November 12, 2011 at EmkenLinton Funeral Home in Texas City, TX.

Toni Blain Shannon Rodgers, beloved mother, grandmother, greatgrandmother, sister, aunt, friend, and servant went to be with our Lord on Sunday, October 30, 2011. Toni was born in Delta, Colorado and was raised in Texas City, Texas. Toni earned her Associate Degree in Business Administration from College of the Mainland in Texas City, Texas with further work at the University of Houston. She was formerly employed with Union Carbide Corporation in Texas City, Texas. She retired in 1986 as Public Relations Manager. Toni was also very active in her church, Highland Presbyterian Church. She had other activities she was involved in including West Monroe Historic Preservation Commission, member of the Board of Directors for the Riverbend Community Center, and Charter Member and Secretary of the Northeast Louisiana Genealogical and Historical Society. Toni was currently involved in the DAR where she served as Parliamentarian, Conservation Chairman and Membership Chairman.

Toni was preceded in death by her parents, Amy Blain and Raymon Blain brother, Richard Blain and beloved husband of 23 years, Luther B. Rodgers.

She is survived by her two children by John C. Shannon John Raymon Shannon and Angie Whitener two grandchildren, Shannon Whitener and Jennifer Atsbaha one greatgrandchild, Mikah Atsbaha sister, Erin Sikes niece, Dana Wild and husband Stephen and their two children Kindall and Lindsay Wild.

She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
