TOMMY DEMPSEY BOWMAN TOWNSEND

Tommy Dempsey Bowman Townsend, 69, passed away from this life Saturday Morning June 14, 2014 at Houston Hospice Lake Center from Congested Heart Failure. He had fought so hard the last two years to get better. He will be sadly missed by all.

He graduated from Clear Creek High School Class of 1963 and promptly joined the U.S. Army from 1965 to 1969. During that time he was Military Police, ASA Army Security Agency Special Forces, also graduated of NCO Academy at Fort Lewis, Washington, and Leadership Academy. He was stationed at Two Rock Ranch at Petaluma, California. After the army he was the first Juvenile Probation Officer for the Sonoma Police Department in Sonoma, California. He retired from CSAAQ California State Automobile Association after 22 years. He was active 42 years in the Lions Club, Chamber of Commerce and Elks Lodge, holding several different roles, in Navato, Texas City, Valleys, Cal.

Mr. Townsend is survived by his wife of 23 years, Donna Pruitt Townsend, where they lived for 23 years in the Clear LakeTexas City area 2 sisters, Sharon Brown of League City, TX. and Donna M. Wuensch Bobby of Pasadena, TX. 2 brothers, Henry Bowman Susan of Houston, TX. and Donnie Bowman of Houston, TX. son, Arlis Andrew Joe Aucorn Debbie of Texas City, TX. loving, special dedicated cousin, Paulette Sis Shipman of Texas City, TX. long time best friend Rick Lynch of Bacliff, TX. 6 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

His wishes were to be cremated under the direction of EmkenLinton Funeral Home in Texas City, Texas. A private celebrationmemorial service will be at a later date for family and close friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lions Club Eye Bank, Elks USA, Houston Hospice Center and the The Mack and Dixie Pruitt Scholarship Fund in care of: Bill Pruitt, 301 Oak Forest Drive, Budan, Texas 78610.
