Shelby Austin

Shelby Anne (Strother) Austin, 28, of Texas City, Texas, passed away February 3, 2020, in Houston.

Funeral services will be held  10:00 a.m., Monday, February 10, 2020 at Emken-Linton Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Galveston Memorial Park. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 p.m., Sunday, February 9, 2020 at Emken-Linton Funeral Home in Texas City.

Shelby was born July 6, 1991 in Texas City, Texas.

Shelby was a hair stylist and formerly worked at Lavish Salon. She graduated Texas City High school in 2009. Shelby attended College of the Mainland, Sam Houston State University, and Galveston College where she received her cosmetology license. She enjoyed playing soccer from the age of 8 years old throughout high school and continued to follow the United States Women’s National Soccer team. But Shelby loved most being a wife and mother and spending time with her family. She had a beautiful, loving heart but also a witty, sarcastic sense of humor. She was always the most fun person to spend time with. Her hobbies included listening to music and going to concerts, reading Harry Potter, and taking her dogs Luna and Jack to the dog park.

She is preceded in death by Grandparents James and Anne Parrott, and Riley Strother, and Great-Grandmother Hazel Strother.

Survivors include, husband Adam Austin, children Aiden and Myleigh Austin, parents Susan and Justin Strother, sisters; Bailey Strother and Mikki Strother and Luis, father and mother in-law John and Debbie Austin, brother in-law Trey Austin and Colleen, grandmothers Hylah Strother, Linda Vosburg, and Ann Austin, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are Steven Skains, John Austin, Morris Parrott, Jed Parrott, Eric Parrott, and Trey Austin

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to National Cervical Cancer Coalition or to donate blood.
