Ruth Lionti

Ruth C. Lionti, 90, passed away Friday, January 4, 2013 in Houston, TX. She was born on July 9, 1922 in Newburyport, Massachusetts to Wilfred and Marjoria Girouard. She married Joseph N. Lionti on June 1, 1946. They were married for 40 years.

Ruth was a long time resident of Texas City, Texas. She was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church where she was active in St. Anns Altar Society. She enjoyed painting, playing bridge and spending time with her family and friends. She also loved to cook and entertain. Ruth was an avid reader and loved to share her books.

Ruth is preceded in death by her parents and her husband Joseph N. Lionti, M.D.

She is survived by three daughters, Dean Mike Cockrill of Victoria, TX, Karen Lionti of Houston, TX, and Abby Lionti Greg Gudenburr of Houston, TX Two grandsons Brent Jennifer Hurley of Lucedale, MS and Joe Chrissa Hurley of Spartanburg, SC and 5 greatgrandchildren 4 sister in laws Vincenzina Buzzell of Proctor, VT, Connie Paquette of Ottawa, Canada, Dorothy Turmel of Hartford, CN, and Lori Lionti of Lady Lake, FL and numerous nieces, nephews and other friends and relatives.

The family would like to express our appreciation to Gardens of Bellaire Assisted Living and Vitas Hospice for their love and care of Mother while she was there.

Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 A.M., Friday, January 11, 2013 at St. Mary of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Dickinson. Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Thursday, January 10, 2013 at EmkenLinton Funeral Home in Texas City with a Rosary following at 7:00 P.M.
