RUTH J. CHAPA

Ruth J. Wella Chapa, 86, of Texas City passed away Friday, May 30, 2014 at her home surrounded by her loved ones.

Funeral services will be held 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at EmkenLinton Funeral Home with Pastor Johnny Angel officiating. Visitation will be 5:00 pm. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Chapa was born January 27, 1928 in San Antonio, Texas to Mary Solis and Gabriel Jimenez.

Wella was happiest when doing things to help others, spending time at the Texas City Dike crabbing, watching Wrestling, cooking and listening to Tejano Music. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were her greatest joy.

She is preceded in death by her beloved parents, and sister, Mary Helen Diaz.

Survivors include her children, Michael Hernandez, Rickie Hernandez, Mario Hernandez, Cindi Mahan and husband Larry, Annette Clermont and husband Stephen, Debbie Howell her special nephew Roberto Dessavre, Jr. and wife Anna 18 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.
