He attended Stephen F. Austin State College after graduation from Texas City High School in 1957. Roy spent most of his life in Texas City except for the 6 years in which he lived in New Orleans. There he met and married his wife of 48 years Susanna. He retired from MonsantoSterling Chemicals in 1999 after 29 years of employment. He is also a lifetime member of the N.R.A, becoming a member in 1980. Roy lived every moment of life to the fullest. He did something with every moment given to him. He was never bored, he never understood how anyone could be bored with endless possibilities and choices of what to do with ones time. Roy did many different things with his time. Most importantly, loving his family and doing anything and everything for each one of us was something that came so natural and effortless for him. His main hobby, out of many, and favorite past time, was making custom knives since the 70s. He made so many beautiful and unique knives. Countless hours were spent running, and cycling as well, starting with 5K runs and after many years achieving the Paris, France marathon. Roy ran in 15 Marathons all over the US including New York City, Boston, Houston, Dallas, San Francisco, New Orleans and his last in Paris, France at the age of 62. He also biked long distance races all over Texas including the MS150 ride from Houston to Austin 10 years in a row. In retirement he reenrolled in college to earn credits at College of the Mainland and the University of Houston Clear Lake taking Biology and Geography. Roy was an absolute genius when it came to the Civil War and Geography. Roy was a member of First Baptist Church of Texas City for close to 70 years. What gave him his greatest joy in life was his grandson, Kameron McCall, who will always keep his legacy alive.
He is survived by his wife Susanna McCall, son Garrett McCall, daughter Susanna Martinez, soninlaw Matthew Martinez, grandson Kameron McCall, and sister Patricia McCall of Texas City, Texas
