On Monday, October 23rd, 2017, we lost our beloved Husband, Dad, Dendad, Son, Brother, Paw Paw , Cousin and Uncle Roy Donald Denny, Jr.
Roy was born March 1st, 1951 at St. Mary's Hospital in Galveston, Texas to Roy Donald Denny Sr. and Ila Martin Denny. He was a 1969 graduate of Texas City High School. Roy retired from Southwestern Bell in 2001 after 31 years of service.
Roy is predeceased in death by his father Roy Donald Denny Sr., brother Ronald Jackson and sister Phyllis Dennis.
Roy's survivors include his wife of 34 years, Rene McMillan Denny, mother Ila Denny and sister Marilyn Denny Bradley. He is also survived by his son Roy Donald Denny III and wife Autumn Ensley Denny and daughters Meriam Denny Taylor and Marlo Acosta King. He also leaves behind brothers-in-law Michael McMillan, Dennis R. Lankford, Jr. and William Waldrop. Sister-in-law Mary McMillan Waldrop, Pam Burrows McMillan, Shirley McMillan Beasley and husband Billy, Debra Cantrell, Brenda Spears and husband Glenn.
Paw Paw also leaves behind 13 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins who loved him beyond measure.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 27th, 2017 from 12pm to 2pm at Emken Linton Funeral Home in Texas City, Texas followed immediately by burial at Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery in Hitchcock, Texas. Reverend Malcolm Dotson will officiate.
Pallbearers will include Jason Bradley, Chris McMillan, Aubrey Gutierrez, Jordan Denny, Cameron Denny and Andrew King, Jr.
Honorary Pallbearers are Caleb Denny, Drayden King, Camden Johnson, Chris Martin, Lance Bradley.
Special thanks to Dr. Nehma Alkarra and staff, Dr. Joseph Prince and staff, Dr. Suzanne McClure and staff, Dr. Matthew Robinson, Melissa and staff as well as Dr. V.S. Kavadi and the Radiation staff and all other Angels at Deke Slaton Cancer Center and Heart of Texas Hospice. Your kindness in our time of need was greatly appreciated.
Last, but certainly not least, thanks go to all our friends and family who called, visited, prayed, laughed with us and cried with us and loved my husband. God Bless you.
