Robert Mclemore, Jr.

Robert William (Bob) McLemore, Jr., long time resident of Texas City, died on January 31, 2015 in Austin, Texas.

Bob was born in Dallas on December 20, 1929 and his family later settled in Galena Park, Texas where he spent his school years. After high school graduation, he attended the University of Texas before moving to Texas City in 1952.

Bob was employed at Union Carbide/Dow Chemical for 35 years where he had many friends. He enjoyed Texas City life on the water, especially his daily drives on the Dike.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mildred E. McLemore, daughter Paulette Mackebon and husband Barry, daughter Denise McLemore, granddaughter Kara Leal and husband Pedro, grandson Paul Shirley, granddaughter Leah Shirley, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert William McLemore and Bessie Della Clark McLemore, brother Thomas McLemore, sister Ida "Beth" McLemore Manley, and son, David McLemore.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, February 28, at 2:00pm at Emken-Linton Funeral Home in Texas City. Contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
