Rita Cole

Rita Lynne Schaper Cole, 73, entered Heaven on January 23, 2021.

A graveside service will be held 1:00 p.m., Friday, January 29, 2021 at Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery.

Rita was born October 28, 1947 in Galveston, Texas. She was the only daughter born to Dr. Louis and Marguerite Schaper.

Rita resided in Houston for the majority of her life and spent the last of her years as a resident of Richmond, TX.

After raising her five children, Rita went back to school where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree and became a Registered Nurse.  She practiced nursing for fifteen plus years. Rita was a wonderful caregiver and had a nurturing spirit.

She had an infectious personality, had a silly side to her and a laugh we will always remember.  Rita was fun and always loved a good party.  She was no stranger to noise, as she always had several grandchildren and children nearby.  One of her favorite things to do was to visit with her children on her back porch while watching her grandchildren play and admiring the beautiful view of all the pecan trees and occasional deer.  She loved 90’s music,  was a huge fan of Reality T.V.  and The Home Shopping Network.  Rita loved a good crossword puzzle and was an expert at Sudoku.   She also enjoyed watching the Astros.   Rita was a wonderful cook and seafood gumbo was her specialty!

Rita is preceded in death by her parents; she is survived by her 5 children, Mark Presley and wife Melissa of Houston, Allyson Presley Waite and husband Mike of Katy, Bruce Eric Cole, Jr. of Katy, Lindsay Martin and husband Brian of Katy, Ashley and husband Jason McConniel of Richmond; 10 grandchildren, and her siblings Louis “Rocky” Schaper, Jr., Dr. Mark Schaper and Matthew Schaper.

Pallbearers will be Eric Cole, Brian Martin, Jason McConniel, and Mike Waite
