RICHARD WARREN RUSSELL

Richard Warren Russell, 86, of Pearland TX, passed away at Clear Lake Regional Medical Center on September 14, 2013.
The funeral service will be held September 20, 2013, 1:00 p.m. at EmkenLinton Funeral Home in Texas City, Texas. Visitation will be held on September 19, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at EmkenLinton Funeral Home. Burial will follow the funeral at Galveston Memorial Park.
Richard was born in Abilene, Texas on August 23rd, 1927. He graduated from Texas City High School and continued on to attend Texas AM University.
Richard was married to his beloved wife Jeannine for 63 years before she preceded him in death.
Richard enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps where he served honorably and achieved the rank of Corporal. He worked as the Chief Shift Supervisor for Union Carbide for over 30 years. Following several years in retirement he continued his career as a security guard at Waterford Harbor in Kemah, Texas. He was an avid aviator who owned and piloted several aircraft. Richard coached youth baseball leagues for many years in La Marque, Texas. He also served and volunteered at his grandchildrens schools. He touched the lives of many with his kind ways and love for others.
Richard is survived by his son Rick Russell and wife Carol of Pearland and his daughter Teresa of Aspen, Colorado his five grandchildren Matt Severin Amanda Severin Kelsey Fischer Christy Foster and Chere Atkins. He is also survived by several greatgrandchildren Brittany and Christopher Cornell, Katie and Zach Rich and Colton Foster.
