Raymond Darden, Sr.

Raymond Hugo Darden, Sr., 83, of Texas City, passed away peacefully at his residence Sunday, June 26, 2016.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 30, 2016 at Emken-Linton Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Forest Park East. Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 29, 2016 At Emken-Linton Funeral Home in Texas City.

Raymond Darden, Sr. was born January 28, 1933 In Rockdale, Texas. He was a Veteran of the Korean War where he served as a US Army Medic. He was a member of the Pipefitters Local Union #211, Boilermakers Local Union #132, a retired Maintenance Supervisor for the Monsanto Chemical Company and a consultant for Par-Tec World Wide Industries. He was a Deacon in the Church of Christ and a member of the Westhaven Church of Christ. He was Scout Leader for the Boys Scouts of America and a supporter of the Los Carnales/La Familia Motorcycle club.

Raymond was also a member of other various clubs and committees including; member of the USA Little League as coach and manager, member of the Texas Jr. Teenage Baseball League as coach, member of the Grand Lodge of Texas and Master Masson of Texas City Lodge # 1118, member of the A & A Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, and a member of the Country Club CB'ers.

He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Ivy Darden; brother, Horace Darden; sister, Agnes Meyer; mother in law, Agnes Murphy; father in law, Frank Murphy, Sr.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Marjorie Darden; sons, Raymond Darden, Jr. and wife Vicki and son, Matt Darden; grandchildren, Raymond Darden III and wife Beth, Kristen Dee and husband, Robert Jr. and Deanna Feast and husband Ahmad; great grandchildren, Trevor Darden, Lexi Darden, Rylan Dee, Kasen Dee and Xyavion Marx; sister in law, Tommie Darden; brother in law, Frank Murphy, Jr and wife Wanda Murphy and other nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are Raymond Darden III, Trevor Darden, Hank Darden, Robert Dee Jr, Steve Williams and Rylan Dee. Honorary Pallbearers will be Kasen Dee and Ahmad Feast.
