Paul Guyton, Jr., 62, lost his lengthy battle with pulmonary fibrosis on Friday, January 6, 2012.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at St. Mary of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Galveston, Texas. Visitation will be 5:00 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at EmkenLinton Funeral home with a Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m.
Paul was born on Galveston Island and was a longtime resident of Texas City. He was a selfemployed audiovisual consultant and had been a longtime employee of Southern Pacific Railroad. He was a devoted son and had spent the last 15 years as the primary caregiver to his mother who suffers from Alzheimers Disease. Paul was an avid snow skier and surfer and had a habit of adopting any stray animal that came his way.
He is survived by his mother, Kathleen Guyton of Sugarland, one brother, William Guyton of Sugarland, three sisters Maureen Meine of Tiki Island, Kathleen Hall of Houston and Eileen Guyton of Pearland, a beloved uncle, Patrick Ryan of Bayou Vista, two nephews, four nieces, and several cousins.
