OPHELIA DODD

Ophelia Dodd, 95, of Austin, and a former longtime resident of La Marque, passed away Sunday, April 20, 2014 in Austin, Texas.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 26, 2014, at EmkenLinton Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Grace Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6:00 8:00 p.m. Friday, April 25, 2014 at EmkenLinton Funeral Home in Texas City.

Mrs. Dodd was born June 9, 1918 in Tow, Texas. She retired from La Marque Independent School District where she was a teachers aide for 20 years along with being a homemaker. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting and traveling while making friends wherever she went. Mrs. Dodd was a member of Mainland Church of Christ.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Audrey Dodd parents, Allie and Zula Hallmark daughter, Sharon Sharp and sister, Nila Faris.

Survivors include daughter, Marilyn Hutson and husband Bill grandchildren, Carol Hutson, Daryl Hutson, Kimberly Walker, and Shannon Miller greatgrandchildren, Travis Sugar, Taylor Sugar, Eli Hutson, Jake Miller, Daniel Bustamante, and Isabelle Bustamante.

Pallbearers are Daryl Hutson, Pat Navarro, Travis Sugar, Taylor Sugar, Eli Hutson and Paul Walker.

In lieu of flowers the family ask for donations may be sent to Lifeline Chaplaincy, 1415 Southmore Blvd., Houston, Texas 77004.
