Mildred Remmers

Mrs. Mildred Lorraine Thompson Remmers went to be with her beloved Lord and Savior on Thursday, February 21, 2013. She was 93 years young and was born in Hughes Springs, Texas on April 27, 1919 to John Frank and Dora Morris Thompson. She was the fifth child of five children.
Mildred was married to the love of her life Clyde Wesley Remmers for 67 years. They had three beautiful children Clyde Morris Remmers, Mildred Christine Remmers, and Linda Pauline Remmers Brister. She is preceeded in death by her husband Clyde Wesley Remmers, daughter Christine Remmers, son Clyde Morris Remmers, and also her parents and brothers and sisters.
She was a homemaker, loving wife and mother and lived in Hitchcock, Texas for 59 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Hitchcock since 1950.
Mildred is survived by her daughter Linda Pauline Remmers Brister and soninlaw David Lynn Brister of Corsicana, Texas and six grandchildren Mildred Malin Brister, David Wesley Brister, Renea Meadows, Barbara Luchak, Debora Karlson, and Clyde Douglas Remmers. She also had 11 great grandchildren, and 4 greatgreat grandchildren.
The family would like to give special thanks and love to the wonderful staff of Twilight Home in Corsicana, Texas which Mildred lovingly referred to as her castle for the last 2 years. The staff sweetly and lovingly cared for her in a way the family truly appreciates. Mildred made many wonderful friends who also adored her.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 23, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at EmkenLinton Funeral Home with graveside services to follow at Galveston Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers will be David Lynn Brister, David Wesley Brister, Justin Brister, Clyde Douglas Remmers, Forrest McGehee, and Larry Remmers, and Honary Pallbearer Huntur Brister.
