Mildred Bradshaw Ritchey Hanks, 95, passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2017 in Webster, Texas.
Mildred was born February 15, 1922 to Stephen & Etta Cogbill and was the youngest of 13 kids. She grew up in Pearland, Texas and moved to Texas City in 1948 where she opened Bradshaw's Florist with her husband Frank. She spent her lifetime building this successful floral business that is still currently owned and operated by her daughter, Tammy.
Mildred spent years traveling the country with Bill in their motor home. She loved the beautiful scenery each state had to offer and had many pictures and memories to share. She loved flowers, plants and gardening and truly had a green thumb. Her talents in the floral business were endless and in her career, she designed thousands of arrangements, corsages and sprays. Mildred loved to cook and feed her guests. You could never leave her home without a full belly and a plate to go. She was a strong, vibrant, caring woman that made a lasting impression on everyone she met.
She is preceded in death by husbands, Frank Bradshaw, Jack Ritchey, William (Bill) McDougal Jr., and Oscar Hanks; Son Mark Bradshaw; and Son-in-Law John Hanks.
She is survived by her daughter, Tammy Hanks; grandchildren, Brad & April Hanks, Shane & Heather Martin, Jenna Hanks, Jimmie Romero; great-grandchildren, Colton & Nicole Martin, Alexandria Hanks, Dillon Martin, Sydney Martin, Isabella Hanks, Elizabeth Hanks, Jayden Romero; The McDougal family - Gayle & Leonard Payne, Kim & Dave Bohreer, Kathy Mc Connaughey, Leslie & Lennie Smith, and Leigh Bethea; The Hanks Family - Billye & Don Adams, Donald & Marcia Hanks, Bruce & Trisha Hanks, James & Candy Hanks, Jim & Linda Foster, Tim & Sharon Streckfus, Steve & Terry Wheeler, and Oscar & Melinda Hanks; The Cogbill Family; Numerous nieces and nephews and so many Bradshaw's Florist staff that all loved her so much.
Services will be held Friday, June 9, 2017 at 10:00 a.m., under the direction of Emken Linton Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Galveston Memorial Cemetery. A visitation will be Thursday, June 8, 2017 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Harry La Porte, Brad Hanks, Shane Martin, Ari Schwartz, Jimmie Romero, and Dillon Martin. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jayden Romero and Colton Martin.
