Michael "Mickey" Ray, 50, of Santa Fe, TX passed away on Friday, August 11, 2017 building his dream cabin in Grapeland, TX.
He was a Health and Safety Professional at Marathon Petroleum in Texas City. He was also an EMT and firefighter for many years.
He is proceeded in death by his mother, Geraldine Ray. Survivors include his best friend and soul mate, Melissa Ray and their baby girl, Meagan Haywood and her husband Colton Haywood; along with Pawpaw's little pride and joy, grandson, Briar Haywood. He is also survived by his father, Ellwyn Ray; brother, Raymond Smith and sister, Tara Corbett, as well as many other nephews and nieces and close friends.
Pallbearers are Anthony Herm, Chad Gaston, Mason Gaston, Nick Smith, Chad Karacostas, and Zach Corbett. Honorary pallbearers are Robert Herm, Jason Compton, JT Compton and Travis Weir.
He lived for his family and loved hunting and fishing. The family would like anyone who wants to wear camouflage to do so to honor his memory.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 17, 2017 at Emken-Linton Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Galveston Memorial Park. Visitation will be 4:00 - 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at Emken-Linton Funeral Home in Texas City.
