Mercedes M. DeLaO, 95, of Texas City, Texas, passed away November 27, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loving children and grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 2, 2016 at St. Mary of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church in Texas City. Visitation will be 5:00 - 7:00 pm. Thursday at Emken-Linton Funeral Home with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m.
Mrs. DeLaO was born September 24, 1921 in Plainview, Texas. She was retired as a Custodian from College of the Mainland. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who had a heart the size of Texas. She was never rude or ugly to anyone and never had an enemy. She was a very kind loving woman that touched many people's lives. She was dearly loved and will be forever missed.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Venancio and Geraldine Medina; her husband, Emilio DeLaO, Sr.; her son, Joe DeLaO; and daughter-in-law's, Shirley Capetillo and Susan DeLaO.
Survivors include her sons, Raymond Capetillo, Jesse DeLaO and wife Rose, Emilio DeLaO, Jr.; daughters, Stella Debner and husband Neil, Florence Sanchez and husband Johnny, Annie DeLaO; brother, Manuel Medina and wife Lucy, numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers are Conrad Capetillo, Frank P. Guerra, Jr., Aaron Guerra, Richard Pena, Tony DeLaO and Pete DeLaO.
