Melvin Trammell

Melvin Eugene Trammell, 93, of Texas City, passed away Monday, February 15, 2016 in Santa Fe, Texas.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 20, 2016 at Emken-Linton Funeral home. Burial will follow at Galveston Memorial Park. Visitation will be 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., Friday, February 19, 2016 at Emken Linton Funeral Home in Texas City.

Eugene Trammell was born December 1, 1922 in Kemp, Oklahoma to the parents of Frank and Emma Trammell. He served in the 5th Army Air Force for 4 years in Australia and the Philippines. He worked at Union Carbide as an operator for 60 years until retirement in 1985.

He is preceded in death by daughters, Demaris Ann Trammell and Dorothy Garcia Greer; brothers, Leman Trammell and J.W. (Jake) Trammell; sisters, Frankie Ward and Cora Mae Gailey.

Survivors include his wife, Naomi Trammell; sister, Josephine Billy; children, Sherry Solis (Ernie), Kenneth Trammell, Dennis Trammell, Tonda Ballard (Donald) and JoAnn Trammell; grandchildren, Amy Ballard, Brent Ballard (Melanie), Tiffany Messina (Eddie), Tina Punwasi (Kevin), Tisha Diaz (Pete), Justin Trammell (Kimberly), Jo Lyne Ballard (Kody), Jennifer Baucom (Bo), Sabrina Campbell (Mark) and Tracey Johnson (Terry), Jody Garcia (Danielle), Jason Garcia, Michael Greer (Monica), Daniel Martinez (Melissa) and Jackie Martinez; 35 great grandchildren, numerous great great grandchildren and other relatives.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
