Melba Moore

Melba Elane Jordan Moore, 86, was born June 15, 1926 in Turkey Creek, Louisiana to Ernest and Bethel Jordan, and passed away Tuesday, August 14, 2012, at Mainland Medical Center in Texas City, Texas.

She and her family moved to Baytown, Texas when she was eight years old. As a young woman, she played snare drum in the Robert E. Lee Brigadiers, who also performed at the dedication of the San Jacinto Monument. Elane worked at Humble Oil in Baytown until she married Wallace B. Moore on September 30, 1950. Elane was a member of the Mainland Church of Christ, where she dedicated her life to the Lord and her family.

Elane was preceded in death by her husband Wallace Moore parents Ernest and Bethel Jordan grandson Bradley Moore brothers Michael and Ernest Jordan sisters Velma Ansley Nelson, Nancy Falke, and Naomi Ruth Jordan.
Survivors include her son Jim Moore and daughter in law Janet daughter Jan Moore grandson Jason Moore sisters in law Mary Sue Jordan, Helen Jordan, Aileen Cashen and Faye Moore brother in law David Nelson and many precious nieces, nephews, their families and other relatives.

The family would like to thank Dr. Swayam Prakash, Dr. David Nickeson, and Dr. Tejinder Ahuja, the staff at Davita Dialysis clinic and Mainland Medical Center, as well as AMED.

There will be a visitation in at EmkenLinton Funeral Home in Texas City on Friday, August 17, 2012 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, August 18, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. at EmkenLinton Funeral Home, with Mike Reed officiating. Burial service will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery in Webster, Texas.

Jason Moore, Vincent Liggio, David Moore, Mike Jordan, Rob Levinsohn, and Jason Freed will serve as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers are Bill Fritch, Billy W. Fritch, Blake Jordan, David Nelson, Ben Jordan and David Jordan.
