Mattie Higgs

Mattie Lou Higgs, 96, of Texas City, passed away Tuesday, February 14, 2012, at Mainland Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 6:00 P.M., Friday, February 17, 2012, at EmkenLinton Funeral Home in Texas City. A Graveside service will be at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, February 18, 2012 at Bethel Cemetery in Clayton, TX. Visitation will be from 4:006:00 P.M., Friday, February 17, 2012 at EmkenLinton Funeral Home.

Ms. Higgs was born February 28, 1915 in Clayton, Texas. She was a member of FBC Texas City and a member Rebeccah Lodge.

She is preceded in death by her husbands, Marion D. Westmoreland and Elmer Higgs three Sisters, two brothers, grandson, Mike Westmoreland, greatgrandchildren Kevin and Jamie Westmoreland.

Survivors include sons, Don Westmoreland and wife Alice of Dickinson, Richard Westmoreland and wife Shirley of Texas City, David Westmoreland and wife Rheba of Kingwood grandchildren, Don Westmoreland Jr. and wife Cheryl, Cathy Bruton and husband Mike, Henry Westmoreland and wife Kelly, Matt Westmoreland, Wendy Westmoreland, Lester Westmoreland and wife Judy, Sharon Chaney and husband Charles, Karen Westmoreland, David Westmoreland and wife Debbie, Terri Tipton and husband Larry, Richard Westmoreland and wife Sabine, Larry Westmoreland and wife Karmela Seventeen greatgrandchildren numerous greatgreat grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
