Matt Alan "Country" Darden, 67, of Texas City, Texas, passed away peacefully January 22, 2025.
Matt Darden was born September 27, 1957 in Texas City, Texas. He graduated from La Marque High School. He was a member of the Boy Scouts of America, played Little League Baseball, and played school football. He coached in the Girl's Softball League for several years. He was a member of the Texas State Men's Softball Team, Armadillos.
Matt worked for the City of Texas City as an operator for many years before retiring. He then attended the College of the Mainland Law Enforcement Academy and upon graduation, joined the La Marque Police Department. As a police officer, and loving to ride motorcycles, he was instrumental in forming the Motor Division for the police department.
His love for motorcycles led him to join the Los Carnales/La Familia motorcycle club which is made up of law enforcement officers from around the world. He was given the road name "Country". He probated with the club and upon completion was appointed Sgt. At Arms with the South Houston Chapter and later was appointed to National Sgt. At Arms. After serving as a National Officer, Matt/Country had the honor of becoming a member of the Nomad Chapter and continued to serve the Nation. The club brought him lifelong friendships and a brotherhood that meant the world to him.
He is preceded in death by his father Raymond H. Darden Sr.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories his mother Marjorie Darden, brother Raymond Darden Jr. and wife Vicki, daughter De Anna Feast and husband Ahmad, grandchildren Xayvion, Zaniyah, Zion, nephew Raymond Darden III and wife Beth, niece Kristen Dee and husband Robert, and great nephews Trevor Darden and wife Sadie, Rylan Dee, Kasen Dee, great niece Lexie Darden, great-great nephew TJ Darden and bonus brothers Steve "Giraffe" Williams and wife Gina and Shawn "Trip" Dodson.
Pallbearers are Raymond Darden III, Trevor Darden, Robert Dee, Rylan Dee, Kasen Dee, Ahmad Feast, and Steve Williams.
Honorary pallbearers are TJ Darden, Xayvion Marx, Zion Feast, Shawn Dodson, John Long, and the Los Carnales/La Familia Nation.
Please join our family, Saturday, February 8, 2025 at 11:00 a.m., for a visitation and 12:00 p.m., for the service at Emken-Linton Funeral Home, 5100 Emmett F. Lowry Expressway, Texas City.
A graveside service will take place at 2:00 p.m. at Forest Park East 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, Texas.
