Mary Ballard

Mary Sue Ballard, 86, of Texas City, passed away Friday, September 22, 2017, at The Rio in Texas City.

Funeral services will be held 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 26, 2017, at Emken-Linton Funeral Home in Texas City. Burial will follow later at Urbana Cemetery, El Dorado, Arkansas. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at Emken-Linton Funeral Home in Texas City.

Mary Sue Ballard was born February 4, 1931 in Union County Arkansas. She received her Bachelor's degree from Southern Arkansas University, 1969. Her Master's degree from University of Houston-Clear Lake City 1978. She taught at El Dorado High School, El Dorado, Arkansas from 1969 to 1972. She also taught in La Marque ISD from 1972 to 1993.

She was a member of Mainland Church of Christ. She also loved reading, gardening, and piecing quilts.

Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Harold Crawford Ballard of Texas City; daughter Marlene Ballard of New Braunfels; son William Ballard of Mandeville, Louisiana; grandsons Adam, Spencer, and Mason Ballard.
