MARVIN WAYNE HOFF, SR.

Marvin Wayne Hoff, Sr., 58, of Texas City, Texas joined his Heavenly Father Friday, March 22, 2013 at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas, after a courageous battle with cancer surrounded by his family.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at EmkenLinton Funeral Home in Texas City, Texas, with Pastor James Benson officiating. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at the funeral home.

Marvin was born January 13, 1955 in Galveston, Texas. Marvin was an obedient son, a caring brother, affectionate loving husband and a proud father of his children, Michelle and Marvin. One of the proudest moments was when he acquired the name PaPa from Caden, his grandson. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, BarBQuing and football. Most of all, he enjoyed being with his family and friends. He was a member of Mainland Community Church.

Marvin was a Master Carpenter and built many cabinets over the years in Galveston County. He worked 24 years at the Sulfur Plant in Galveston prior to that he worked 5 years with the Railroad.

Marvin was a faithful servant to our Lord, every morning with a cup of coffee he spent time reading the Bible and talking to our Lord. The outside of his Bible is the color red, most important of all the inside was he read it and used it in his daily life. He loved to take his wife and grandson to church every Sunday then come home and cook hot dogs the cowboy way.

He was preceded in death by his mothersinlaw, DeLaine Parret and Dorothy Parret his brotherinlaw, Dale Parret and wife Gina.

He is survived by his wife Carla Parret Kelley Hoff of Texas City his parents, Charles and Judy Hoff of Texas City his daughter Michelle Digby and husband Ron of League City his son Marvin Wayne Hoff, Jr., of Houston his sisters, Joan Long and Pete of Texas City, and Marian Fernandez and Don of League City his grandson, Caden Digby and the Kelley Family numerous nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives.

Pallbearers are Ron Digby, Richard Long, Ron Callahan, Butch Pean, Glen Kelley, Jr. and Rick Amann. Honorary pallbearers Gene Powell, Ricky Kelley, Don Booth and Caden Digby

Marvin was devoted to putting others before himself. He firmly believed in caring for the less fortunate. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
