Marchie was born in 1921 in Olney, Texas to Travis H. and Sara Burton. She was the youngest of five children: three sisters, Cora Hallmark, Evelyn Burton, and Faye Read, and a brother, Travis
Burton. Her father was a Methodist minister, so the family moved frequently among congregations in north central Texas.

An animal lover, Marchie had many dogs and cats throughout the years.

Marchie had a friend and neighbor with whom she traveled and also spent time at the theatre and dined out frequently. She supported the arts and was quite artistic herself painting with watercolors, sewing, gardening, and even did some creative shopping.

Marchie was an active member of St. Johns Methodist Church, Texas City Retired Teachers, and several other general service clubs in the past. She was proud to do volunteer work.

Marchie was preceded in death by her parents all four of her siblings, as well as her husband Brent. She is survived by her children, Karen Williamson and husband Wilson Hurst, Kenneth Brent Williamson, and grandchildren Christopher Allen Reynolds, Kendra Christine Williamson, Conor Griffith Williamson, and a special friend and neighbor Joe Updegrove.

Described as a sweet and generous person, Marchie shared her interests with many friends. She maintained contact with numerous close friends.

She would like to be fondly remembered by all who knew her.
