Martha Asevedo Quesada, 84, of Texas City, passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2016.
Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 1, 2016 at St. Mary's Miraculous Medal Church. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., Thursday, June 30, 2016 at Emken-Linton Funeral Home in Texas City with a rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m.
Martha Quesada was born December 10, 1931 to Hilario Asevedo and Guadalupe Alvarado in Yoakum, Texas and resided most of her life in Texas City, Texas. She worked for Texas City Independent School District for 20 years and was a devoted member of the St. Mary's of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Vicente Quesada; daughter, Barbara Quesada; sisters, Lenora Coronel, Geneva Roosevelt and Julia Acevedo; brothers, Abel and Cain Acevedo.
Survivors include sons, Vincent Quesada, Ricardo Quesada and wife Lori; daughters, Rebecca Rodriguez and husband Teriso, Carmen Waggoner, Rita Miller and husband Dwight, Peggy Miranda, Maria Reiss and husband David; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Martha lived a full life. She loved family, laughter, music and dancing. She was known for her sense of humor and her listening ear. Her house was never empty. She created a home that provided unconditional love and comfort. Her beautiful smile and joyful laughter will be missed by many. She leaves a legacy of faith, love, mercy and compassion.
Pallbearers are Ray Alvarez, Eric Alvarez, Miguel Leyva, Chris Miranda, Tommy Rodriguez, Nicholas Quesada, Johnathan Quesada and Stephen Rodriguez, Jr.
