Marjorie Carole Stapp, 67, passed away Thursday, July 9, 2020 in Tomball, Texas. Better known as Margie, she was born September 25, 1953 in Texas City. Margie graduated from Texas City High School in 1972. She continued her education and graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with a Bachelor of Science in Education in May, 1976. While an elementary teacher she attended and graduated from Sam Houston State University with a Master of Education in August, 1979.
Margie taught 3rd grade at Oakridge Elementary in the Woodlands, Roosevelt Wilson Elementary in Texas City and Landolt Elementary at Heritage Park in Friendswood until 1987.
A member of FBCTC while growing up and attending other churches while going to college, Margie settled at Friendswood First Baptist where she was very active teaching a children’s choir and working with the preschool division. Her life was cut short on October 3, 1996 due to a tragic automobile accident.
Margie was a resident of Harborview Nursing Center for many years until moving to Tomball Nursing Center in 2017.
Margie is preceded in death by her parents Travis and Alde Owens. She is survived by her daughter, Sarah Stapp, of Colorado and son, Kevin Stapp, of Idaho, her brother Bill Owens and wife Nicki of Magnolia, Texas and brother, Gerald Owens, of Knoxville, Tennessee, two nieces, Grace Undercoffer and husband Tony of League City, Texas: Karen Ford and husband Bryan of Cypress, Texas; and nephew, Clayton Owens, of Magnolia, Texas; along with numerous cousins.
