Marguerite Galbreath

Marguerite Elizabeth Galbreath, born November 23, 1913 in Leander, Texas to Earl Hamilton and Bertha Hart Hamilton, went home to be with our Lord July 30, 2016 at the age of 102.

Marguerite attended school in Liberty Hill, Texas before attending Texas State University in San Marcos.

April 8, 1933 she married the love of her life G J Galbreath who died June 2001 after 68 years of marriage.

Marguerite and G J began their life together working in a one room school house in Sprinkle, Texas. They were both employed at the state school for Mentally Handicapped until 1943 when they moved to Texas City to work for the school system. Marguerite worked various secretarial positions until 1952 when she joined the Texas City School Tax Office and remained there until retiring in November, 1978. She left Texas City in June 2004 to live with her daughter and husband in Pearland, Texas where she resided until her death.

She is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, three brothers and her son in law, Roger Wray.

She is survived by son, Frederick Galbreath and wife Fran, their 6 children, 25 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren; daughter, Maxine Wray, her 2 children, and 2 grandchildren. She also leaves behind many loving, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Marguerite loved her family and was very dedicated to her family and friends and truly lived a Christ filled life. She was very active, walked daily for exercise, took pride in her flower gardens, and kept a beautiful home while sharing and giving to others. She loved to cook and always had hot cookies for anyone that stopped by for a quick visit. Her active lifestyle and love for Christ is what allowed us to be blessed with her life for over a century.
