Lois Catching

Lois Standley Catching, 84, died Friday the 14th of December, 2012 at Clear Lake Regional Hospital. She was a longtime resident of Texas City and a member of First Baptist Church.

She was born in 1928 in Lufkin, Texas to James W. and Gordie G. Allison. Lois retired from Monsanto after 25 years of dedicated service. She was the wife of the late Joe M. Standley, former Chief of Police of Texas City.

Lois loved spending time with her family and friends, enjoyed traveling, and had a wonderful smile that could light up a room. She will be missed by many.

She is survived by her husband of nine years, John Catching, Jr. children Joseph M. Standley and Cheryl S. Conn two brothers one sister numerous grandchildren great grandchildren nieces, nephews and other friends and relatives.

Visitation will be held at EmkenLinton Funeral Home in Texas City, Wednesday, December 19, 2012, from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. with a Funeral Service at 7:00 P.M. A Burial and Graveside Service will be at Old Union Cemetery in Lufkin, TX on Thursday December 20, 2012 at 1:00 P.M.
