Linda Sue Adams of Dickinson, Texas passed away Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at her home.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Linda will be held at Emken-Linton Funeral Home on Sunday, October 20, 2024. Linda's family welcomes your presence beginning at 2:30 p.m. as we honor and share memories of her life well-lived. A private gathering for immediate family will start at 1:00 p.m. Friends can arrive at 1:45 p.m.
Linda was born in Galveston, Texas at St. Mary's Hospital on March 11, 1966. During her younger years, Linda was an avid Twirler who went on to become a National Champion in 1977. From 1979-1984, Linda continued her Twirling as a member of the La Marque High School marching band. In 1986, Linda competed in the Miss Texas Pageant as Miss Texas City. One of her proudest moments came in 1988 when she competed in the most difficult pageant of her career and won the prestigious title of Imperial Miss Texas. Linda continued to challenge herself by studying at the UHCL and achieving a BS in Finance in 1999. She found great personal satisfaction while working in the treasury department of American National Insurance Company. In her spare time Linda enjoyed 'Jeeping'. The friendships she developed through her participation in the Jeep community and many years of dance became a meaningful part of her life.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Helen Eileen Travis; her father, James Samuel Johnson; her son, Presley Donald Robershaw and step-son, Zackary Daniel Adams. She is survived by her husband, Herbert (Hub) Harlan Adams, Jr.; step-daughter, Jennifer Bonnin and husband, Jim; step father, Charles Daniel (Dan) McNeel; and her brother, James (Jay) Johnson along with his wife Allison. She is also survived by step-sisters, Patrice Sallans and husband Jay; Suanne Sparks and husband Billy; Lisa Owens and Allyson Jackson. Linda is also survived by her loving grandchildren, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, along with many close friends who will honor her legacy by living their lives to the fullest.
