Leslie Ruben, a resident of Texas City and New York City, passed away Tuesday, September 25, 2012 in New York City.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday September 30, 2012 at EmkenLinton Funeral Home in Texas City with a visitation at 1:00 P.M. Entombment will follow at Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery in Hitchcock.
Leslie was a gymnast from Junior High through High School and always wanted to be a dancer. She studied dance at SMU and UT and came back to Texas City and enrolled in the RN program at College of the Mainland. She graduated from College of the Mainland with an RN certification and was invited to become a member of Phi Theta Kappa.
She heard about Pilates and went to New York to study with Romana Kryzanowsa, a world renowned protge of Pilates founder, Joseph Pilates. She was certified by Romana and opened a private studio in New York City.
Leslie was a generous big hearted person and especially loved her baby Mojoling. She had planned to prepare her will so that a fund would be set up to provide shelter for cats and dogs so they would not have to be euthanized.
She was preceded in death by her father Dr. M.L. Steve Ruben her sister Stefni Ruben grandparents Mike and Thelma Mesinger and Phil and Florence Ruben.
She was loved by everyone who knew her and ended every conversation with her mother I love you.
She leaves behind her mother Odette Ruben uncle Dr. H.M. Mesinger of Houston and many cousins and friends made throughout the world through Pilates.
