Leon B. Malm, 85, of Texas City, passed away Monday, June 6, 2016 at his residence.
Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 11, 2016 with a Memorial service to follow at Emken-Linton Funeral Home in Texas City.
Leon B. Malm was born February 20, 1931 in Hutto, Texas. He was a retired Chief Operator for 40 years at Union Carbide and a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local # 347. He was president of the Texas City Rebel Football Association in 1975. He was an avid reader and loved to watch sports and classic movies. When someone looked nice he would always say "You look fint som snus" which meant fine as snuff.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Carl G. and Edith Peterson Malm; brothers, Lambert G. Malm and Wilford C. Malm and sister, Astrid Malm Zizinia.
Survivors include the mother of their four children and treasured friend, Gwen; son, Leon B. Malm, Jr. from Roundrock, Texas; daughter, Susan Malm from Bay Cliff, Texas; daughter, Elizabeth Malm from Mineral Wells, Texas; Son, Chad Malm and wife Brenda from Texas City; son, Russell Malm of Texas City; five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren and his beloved cat, scruffy.
