Ken St. Clair

Ken St. Clair, 68, of Texas City, Texas, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2025.

Ken was a cherished husband, father, Papa, and friend. He was known for his generous spirit, warm heart, and unwavering love for his family. Ken’s life was defined by his profound dedication to those he loved, and his legacy will live on through the countless memories he created.

Above all, Ken was deeply devoted to his wife of 49 years, Nancy. Together, they built a life filled with love, respect, laughter, and adventure. Their bond was an enduring example of commitment, and their travels around the world only strengthened their connection. Rarely was Ken seen without Nancy by his side.

Ken's greatest joy came from his seven beloved grandchildren, who affectionately called him “Papa.” His love for them was limitless, and they, in turn, adored him. Whether attending band concerts, cheering at sports events, or sharing quiet moments at home, Papa and Mimi were always there, encouraging and celebrating their grandkids with unmatched enthusiasm. Sleepovers at Papa and Mimi’s house were filled with laughter, games, swimming, fishing, card games, and plenty of delicious food. The memories of Easter egg hunts, New Year's countdowns, decorating cookies and those precious moments of wisdom and playful fun will forever be etched in their hearts.

Ken retired after 37 dedicated years of service at Marathon, and he spent much of his retirement volunteering at Clear Creek Community Church and 4B’s, where he took care of maintenance needs. He also contributed his time and energy to the Texas City Chamber of Commerce, always eager to help where he could.

Beyond his professional achievements and volunteer efforts, Ken was a source of knowledge and wisdom to his family. He was the first call whenever anyone had a question, whether big or small. His willingness to listen and offer advice was a gift to all who knew him. His quiet yet powerful presence provided a sense of security and comfort that will be deeply missed.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Gene and Pearl St. Clair, and his siblings, Roberta Paoli, Elaine Bryant, Ray Perry, Richard Perry, and Net Tacquard. He is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy; their children, Matthew (Heather) St. Clair and Timothy (Christy) St. Clair; his seven grandchildren, Spencer, Noah, Chloe, Cohen, Madden, Macie, and Witten; his sisters Shirley (Henry) Howard and Judy (Eck) Ulrich; and sisters-in-law, Sue Jane Perry and Jimmie Jo Perry and numerous other family members and friends.

In addition to his family, Ken had a fondness for the simple joys in life. He treasured visiting family, and was always ready to enjoy some good BBQ after church. His warmth and generosity extended to everyone he encountered, and his legacy of love, kindness, and devotion will continue to inspire his family for generations to come.
