Kenneth Lee Haseltine died on Sunday, Dec. 6, 2015, at the age of 83. A fall while doing lawn work exacerbated a number of medical problems which resulted in his death.
Lee was born in Springfield, Mo. on October 14, 1932. He left college early and proudly served in the
U. S. Air Force. A redeployment to Ellington AFB in the mid 1950's brought him to Houston. After being discharged from the military, Houston would become his lifelong home. Lee spent the bulk of his working life as a representative in the plastic sales business. He provided equipment and supplies to Houston's petrochemical and medical industries.
Lee was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Garvis. Together, they had a wonderful life in the Texas Gulf Coast community.
Lee is survived by his son, David Haseltine and wife Barbara, son John Scott Haseltine, stepdaughter Claudia Gage and her husband David, stepson Michael Plyler and his wife Jan, five grandchildren, Megan Haseltine, Phillip Haseltine, Stephanie Crowl and her husband David, Ashley Plyler-Campbell and her husband Jeremiah Campbell, Heather Plyler, one great grandchild, Garrett Campbell and many other relatives and cherished friends.
Lee enjoyed many things in life. He loved the outdoors. He loved playing cards, traveling and talking sports and politics. He was never shy about giving you an opinion. Of course, he loved his family and friends very much. He was always there to lend a helping hand.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 11, 2015 at Emken-Linton funeral home. Burial will follow at Forest Park East. A visitation will be held 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., Thursday, December 10, 2015 at Emken-Linton funeral home in Texas City.
