KATHRYN E. SMITH

Mrs. Kathryn E. Johnson Smith, 81, passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 3, 2013. She was born May 21, 1932 in Rockford, Illinois. She and her husband, Dr. Otto O. Smith moved to Texas City in 1954 when he started his practice at Beeler Manske Clinic.

Mrs. Smith was the longtime school Nurse RN at Roosevelt Wilson Elementary School Texas City from 1974 until her retirement in 2001.

Kathryn was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Otto O. Smith of Texas City, TX. Parents, J. Walter and Margaret Peg Carlson Johnson of Rockford, Ill.

She is survived by her loving family, Brother Bud Barbara Johnson of Desert Hot Springs, Ca. Daughters Marta Rick Holder and Molly Smith of Texas City, Texas. Sons Dr. Wade Nancy Smith of Sunnyvale, CA and Joel Smith of Texas City.

Grandchildren Scott Holder, Kristen Holder, Katrina Thurman Roney, Lauren Smith, Mary Brigid Smith, Eric Holder, Elisabeth Holder, and Katie Steven Smith along with four great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Thursday, September 5, 2013 at EmkenLinton Funeral Home in Texas City from 4:00 6:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, September 6, 2013 at Peace Lutheran Church in Texas City. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at Galveston County Memorial Park Cemetery in Hitchcock, TX.
