On Thursday morning October 11, 2016 our special angel Karen Picard was called to join her beloved husband, Benny Picard and mother Mary Stark in the heavenly mansion our father has prepared for her.
Karen made her home and raised a family in Texas City, where she came to be known by many of her children's friends as "Mama K."
She spent many years being active with underprivileged children, Girl Scouts, and volunteering for the schools in Texas City.
She is survived by her daughter Sarah Picard and husband Nick, son John Picard, Grandchildren Isabelle Picard and Brayden Cordova. Brother Robert Paul and wife Deb; Sisters Beth Herman and husband Dwayne, Sally Ennis and husband Britt. Nieces and nephews Danielle Herman and Tabitha Helms, Brandi Ennis, Megan Adkins and husband Victor, Bob Paul, John Britt Ennis, Destiny Herman, and fiancée Garrick Franta. Great nephews John Mitcham, Brian Ennis, and Zaide Adkins. Also, adopted son Mikey Looper and daughter Jennifer Bankston.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at Emken-Linton Funeral Home in Texas City. Burial will follow at Galveston Memorial Park in Hitchcock. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 17, 2016 at Emken-Linton Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be John Picard, Mikey Looper, Ryan Porter, Nick Cordova, Garrick Franta, Paul Allison, Tabitha Helms, Destiny Herman.
