JOYCE CURRY HOWETH

Joyce Curry Howeth, 75, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away Friday, November 21, 2014 in her home in Dickinson, Texas.

A celebration of her life will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, November 29, 2014 at EmkenLinton Funeral Home. Visitation begins at 12:00 P.M.

She was born in Groveton, Texas on January 13, 1939, and moved to Galveston, Texas
where she grew up. She graduated from Ball High School in 1957 and soon after married Bobby Howeth of Texas City, Texas. She became a long time resident of Texas City, Texas with Bobby and raised their four children there.

She was employed for several years at the Galveston County Court House as an Administrative Assistant to County Commissioner Jack Lawrence. She subsequently was employed by Dr. Winkleman of Galveston, and finally worked for Texas City Independent School District until her retirement. Although she lived in Texas City for many years, she remained a Galveston Girl and was very proud of her East Texas and Island roots. Throughout her life she kept her Baptist faith, and her greatest love was her family, most of all, her grandchildren. Her other loves included the beach along with music and the arts.

She is preceded in death by her father, Alvin Curry, mother, Reba Curry, and grandson, Lee Ramey.

She is survived by her sister, Becky Griffin and husband David her children Gina Ramey and husband Melvin, Bobby Howeth Jr. and friend Mario Rodriguez, Joni Delgado, Lance Howeth and wife Denee grandchildren, Angela Marshall and husband Derrick, Melvin Ramey Jr. and wife Cassandra, Britney Benson and husband Brandon, Sophia Delgado, Haley Howeth, Dane Delgado and Tyler Howeth numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and close friends. She will always be remembered for the joy and laughter she brought to our lives.
