Jose Hector Smith, Sr.

Jose Hector Smith, Sr., 82 of Texas City passed away on Thursday, August 3, 2023, at HCA Mainland Center surrounded by his family.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m., with a memorial service to follow at 6:00 p.m., on Monday, August 14, 2023, at Emken-Linton Funeral Home, 5100 Emmett F. Lowry Expwy, Texas City, Tx 77591.

Jose Hector Smith, Sr. was born on January 28, 1941, in Pharr, Texas. He was in Operations at Valero Refinery in Texas City, Texas for 28 years.

He is preceded in death by parents, Higinio Smith Jr. and Antonia Ramos; siblings, Maria, Hortencia, Josefina, Delia, Lily, Jose and Higinio; and first wife, Grace Marie.

He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years Della Smith; his children, Debbie Smith Gustafson, Joey Smith (Kelly), Anthony Smith, Christina Smith Riggs (Alan), Emily Smith, Christopher Smith, Jeremiah Smith and Aiden Smith; step-children, Sonny Fuentes (Christy), Dawn Fuentes, Wendy Fuentes, Erica Perez (David III); grandchildren, Ryan, Haley, Ashley, Samantha, Savannah, David IV (Gabby), Eric, Dani, Tyler, Myra, Cassie, Bianca; eleven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
