José Angel Lozano, Sr., 72, of Texas City, passed away Friday, May 19, 2017.
He was born to the late Cipriano and Herminia Lozano, October 24, 1944, in China Nuevo Leon, Mexico. Angel served in the Marines and fought in Vietnam receiving a purple heart for his service. He married Simona Flores in 1971, and they lived together in Galveston, TX, before relocating to Texas City, TX in 1972 where he became a pipefitter/welder and retired from Union Carbide a subsidiary of Dow Chemical in Texas City, TX.
He loved to cook, travel, and spend time with family. Angel was loved by many and never met a stranger. He loved people so much that he was not just a brother, cousin, and uncle, but a father to everyone as well. Those also left to remember him are an abundance of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Angel is survived by three children: Michael and Luci Lozano of League City, TX, Rosa and Marq Moody of Houston, TX, Angel Jr. and Iris Lozano of Texas City, TX. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A viewing will be held at 5:00 p.m. followed by a Rosary at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at Emken-Linton Funeral Home in Texas City, TX. Memorial services will be held at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, May 25, 2017 followed by the burial at Grace Memorial Cemetery in Hitchcock, TX.
