Jose Leon, Jr.

Jose Guadalupe De Leon Jr., from Texas City died March 10, 2013 after several years of battling ALS.

Funeral services will be Thursday, March 14, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. at EmkenLinton Funeral Home in Texas City. Burial will follow at Galveston Memorial Park. There will be a visitation for Mr. De Leon from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Funeral Home.

He was born December 14, 1960 in San Bernardino, CA and raised in Chino, CA until his high school years. He moved to Texas with his parents shortly after, where he lived for the remainder of his life. Jose was a loving husband, father, brother, and friend.

He worked in the railroad industry for more than 15 years until he was diagnosed with ALS Lou Gehrigs 3 years ago.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Lurdes Bonnie De Leon his mother Guadalupe V. De Leon, of Pearsall, TX his children Jose Guadalupe De Leon III, of Texas City, Adriane Samano and Joseph Reyna of Chino, CA his brother Rev. Eloy De Leon of Rockport, TX who will be giving the Sermon his sisters, Margaret De Leon Tapia, of Chino, CA, Janie De Leon of Pearsall, TX, and Emily De Leon of Chino, CA. He had 6 grandchildren, 8 nephews and nieces, and numerous cousins, uncles, and aunts living in California, Nebraska, and Texas.

He is preceded in death by his father Jose Guadalupe De Leon Sr. and daughter Amanda De Leon.

Pallbearers are Joe Cruz, Robert A. Esparza, Frank Trevino Jr., Zack Lopez, Frank Garcia, and Jose Luis Tapia.
