Our dearly loved Johnny G. Garcia Sr. departed this life on Dec. 4, 2015 to meet his heavenly father. He was born on February 15, 1946 in Texas City, TX. and was a life-long resident of Galveston County. During the Vietnam War from 1966-68 he served his country proudly as a Marine. When he returned Johnny was employed as a welder for Todd's Shipyard until he retired. He then went on to work security at several local refineries.
Johnny loved his oldies music, family gatherings and attending anything and everything involving his grandchildren. He will be fondly remembered for his before meal prayers that seemed to go on forever. Johnny will forever be in our hearts and sadly missed.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Sally Sanchez; step-father, Eusebio Sanchez; father, Antonio Garcia; Brother, Lawrence Valdez along with two other brothers and a sister.
He is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 46 years Molly Garcia, his son Johnny Garcia, Jr. and wife Debbie, grandchildren Harley Rae, Isabella and Dakota Garcia (who were his greatest joy) sister Carmen Ojeda (Lalo) brothers Manuel Zamora (Vann) David Zamora (Marcy) as well as many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers include Joe A. Ojeda, James Touchstone, Josh Touchstone, Manuel Zamora, David Zamora, Joe Cruz Ojeda. Honorary Pallbearers will include Richie Bartlett and Profit Kately.
The Garcia family would like to give a special thank you to the T.C.F.D. Paramedics, Emergency Room and Critical Care Unit staff of Mainland Center Hospital
