JOHN WILLIAM MINTON

John William Minton, 87, of Texas City, TX., passed away Wednesday, October 8, 2014, in Texas City.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 10, 2014 at First Love Church in Texas City. A Graveside service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Friday, October 10, 2014, at Rock Springs Cemetery near Nacogdoches, Texas. Visitation will be 5:008:00 p.m., Thursday, October 9, 2014 at EmkenLinton Funeral Home in Texas City.

John was born April 18, 1927 in Nacogdoches, Texas to Walter H. and Carrie G. Souther Minton. He was a retired Carpenter. He served our country in the Navy. John was a longtime member of First Love Church in Texas City and a licensed minister of the United Pentecostal Church.

Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of 66 years, Vida Minton sons, Larry and wife Sarah of Covington, Louisiana and Terry W. Minton of Spring, Texas daughter, Glenda Christie and husband Wallace of Houston, Texas sisters, Mattie Minton of Nacogdoches, Texas and Helen Whitehead and husband Sherwood of Nacogdoches, Texas grandchildren, Dawn Kirby and husband Christopher, Twyla Shea and husband Mike, Jonathan Minton and wife Jennifer, Melissa Dowden and husband Victor, Rhonda Wolfe and husband Dale, Rachel Lout and husband Charlie, Laura Gonzales and husband Victor, Chad Parker and wife Angela and David Minton.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Jonathan Minton, David Minton, Chad Parker, Victor Gonzales, Dale Wolfe and Mike Shea.
