John Dean McKown, 58, of Texas City, lost his fight against ALS on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at his home.
He was born November 5, 1958 in Texas City to Teresa (Twarowski) and John McKown. John was in the A/C-Heating business for 39 years. Always willing to help those in need, he had a great sense of humor and a quick smile for everyone he met. John was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved the outdoors.
He is preceded in death by brother, Darrell Lee McKown; and his parents.
He leaves behind his wife, Patricia Harvey McKown; his fur-baby, Buster; daughter, Kayla McKown; son, Airon McKown; step-sons, Chris Harvey and wife Brooke and Kyle Harvey; sister, Debbie Speed; step grandchildren, Baron, Nolan and Tyson Harvey; nephews, Cory Speed, Jake Speed and wife Sarah; great niece, Elena Speed. He will be greatly missed by his numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., Friday, June 2, 2017 at Emken-Linton Funeral Home in Texas City. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to ALS Association, Greater Houston Chapter.
