John Hanks, 62, of Texas City passed away Saturday, July 6, 2013.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, July 11, 2013 at 10:00am, at Emken Linton Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery in Hitchcock, Texas. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 10, 2013 from 5:00pm
8:00pm, at Emken Linton Funeral Home in Texas City, Texas.
John was born March 13,1951in Marble Falls, Texas to Oscar and Hermina
Hanks. He graduated from Hitchcock High School in 1969 and had been a lifelong resident of Galveston County. John was a Pipefitter and member of Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 211, but most recently was an owner of Bradshaws Florist with his wife, Tammy.
John was an avid golfer, member of the Bayou Golf Club Association and loved playing in the skins group on Sundays. He loved Sunday football and was a Dallas Cowboy fan. His favorite days were spent with his family, barbequing, and swimming with his grandkids.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Hermina Hanks.
Survivors are his wife of 31years,Tammy Bradshaw Hanks son, John Brad Hanks and wife April daughters, Heather Martin and husband Shane, Jenna Romero and husband Jimmie grandchildren, Alexandria, Elizabeth, Isabella Hanks, Colton, Dillon Sydney Martin, Jayden Romero father, Oscar Hanks beloved second mother, Mildred Bradshaw Hanks brothers, Donald Marcia Hanks, James Candy Hanks, Bruce Trish Hanks, Oscar Melinda Hanks sisters, Billye Don Adams, Linda Jimmie Foster, Terry Steve Wheeler, Sharon Tim Streckfus and many other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers are Donald Hanks, James Hanks, Bruce Hanks, Oscar Hanks, Shane Martin, Jimmie Romero, Cary Blair and Harry LaPorte. Honorary Pallbearers are Colton Martin, Dillon Martin, Jayden Romero and Jimmie Foster.
