Jean Ashcraft, 91, of Santa Fe, passed away Saturday, June 13, 2015 at Clear Lake Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 18, 2015 at Emken Linton Funeral Home. Burial will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday at Bold Spring Cemetery in Livingston, Texas. Visitation will be 7:00 - 9:00p.m., Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at Emken-Linton Funeral Home in Texas City.

Jean Ashcraft was born January 16, 1924 in Galveston, Texas to Parents Alfred L. Ober and Charlotte Gates. She was a member of the Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Santa Fe, a member of the First Christian Church in Texas City. She was also a member of the Eastern Star OES # 979 for over 72 years.

She is preceded in death by her beloved son, David Wayne Dowdy; husband, Clifton J. Ashcraft; brothers, Alfred Ober, Marion Ober and A.C. Pete Ober.

Survivors include brother, R.L. "Bob" Ober of Alvin; sister, Violet Churchill of Santa Fe; grandchildren, Jeannie Jo Henze and husband Karl, Troy Tucker, Luke Wayne Dowdy and Summer Dowdy; great grandchildren, Nathan Johnson and wife Brittany, Bryce Dowdy, Adrianne Rivera, Austin Dowdy, Hervy Seale; daughter, Linda Tucker of Santa Fe.

A very special thanks to Rachel and Andrea for all their help and loving care with grandma.
