Janice L. Young passed away at her home, surrounded by family and friends, on June 12, 2016.
She was born on January 15, 1939 in San Antonio, TX to Julius and Meta (Haecker) Tkac. As a child, she was dubbed "Doughboy" by her grandfather. Jan was owner of Action Personnel, Inc. She was an avid bowler for many years and especially loved going to "The Lake", dancing and watching Aggie football games (GIG'em)
Jan is preceded in death by her parents, son, Wayne Young, twin sister, Jan Gooden and her dear friend of 34 years, Jo Ellen Fincher and her son, Eddie Fincher.
She leaves to cherish her memory, daughter, Deanna Young Sullivan and husband (Gary); grandson, Wayne Sullivan, whom she was so proud of and loved dearly. She also leaves her brother, Jerry Tkac and wife Jerry Lynn; nieces, Cheryl Hunter and Brenda Ginsberg; nephews, Jay Tkac and Jeff Gooden. She also leaves behind extended family Kelly and Paul Musick, Casey Buck, Michael, Mark and Connor Musick, adopted sister, Glory Ann Johnson and many cousins, friends and her staff at Action Personnel, Inc.
Visitation will be held Monday, June 20, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Emken Linton Funeral home in Texas City, TX. Services will be held on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at 10:00 am with Deacon Joe Hensley officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery in League City.
Pall bearers will be Jeff Gooden, Jay Tkac, Ted Ginsberg, Nolan Ginsberg, Gary Sullivan and Casey Buck.
In lieu of the usual remembrances, the family requests donations be made to Hospice or Cancer Society.
"Grieve not nor speak of me with tears. But laugh and talk as though I were beside you. I love you so….'twas Heaven here with you."
