JAMES HORACE STEWART

James Horace Stewart, 84, of Texas City, Texas, passed away Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at Clear Lake Regional Hospital.

Visitation will be 5:30 pm. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, June 27, 2014 at EmkenLinton Funeral Home in Texas City, Texas. Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 28, 2014 at Strong Memorial Cemetery in Slocum, Texas.

Mr. Stewart was born August 24, 1929 in Slocum, Texas. He was a retired member of the Teamsters Union, a veteran of the U.S. Army where he served in the Korean War 1948 1951. He loved his family, friends and animals.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Naomi Stewart his wife, Jane Stewart a brother, Homer Stewart and a grandson, Kamin Stewart.

Survivors include his sons, Jimmy Stewart and wife Marcy of San Marcos, CA, John H. Stewart and wife Carol of Austin, TX, Bubba Stewart of Texas City, TX his daughters, Glinda Berg Collins of Houston, TX, Sharon Kay Swain and husband Dale of Arkansas his brother, Butch Stewart of Texas City, TX three sisters, Helen Long of Clear Lake, TX, Patsy Alford and husband Chubby of Palestine, TX, and Doris Grounds of Palestine, TX eight grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
