James Michael (“Mike”) Presley, 69, of Santa Fe, Texas, passed away Thursday, January 2, 2020 at HCA Houston Healthcare Mainland Hospital.
Funeral and Burial services will be held graveside at Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery in Hitchcock, Texas at 2:30 pm, January 10, 2020.
James Michael was born August 17, 1950 in Texas City, Texas. Throughout his life, Mike loved the outdoors. Some of his favorite pastimes were hunting, fishing and camping. He was also an avid gun collector and loved spending time with his children and grandchildren at every opportunity. From a very young age, Mike was a huge fan of music, especially country tunes. He first started strumming along on a guitar at the age of three, and that passion for music never left him. He also enjoyed spending hours watching tv, with old Westerns being among his favorites.
Though Mike held many jobs during the course of his life including auto mechanic and machine shop foreman, his favorite occupation was painter. He loved to paint anything you could put color on. During one of his favorite jobs, he worked his way across the country painting billboards and enjoying the outdoors. He also worked painting buildings but was best known as a very talented automobile painter.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, Gladden and Juanita Presley.
He is survived by four children, Donna Renee Presley-Fails, John Jacob Presley, Melissa Ann Parks, and Gladden Louis Presley. He had fifteen grandchildren and twenty-three great-grandchildren. In addition, he is survived by his sister, Sharron Daniel, two brothers, David Presley and Stephen Presley and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
