JAMES JIMMY HENRY HUGHES

James Jimmy Henry Hughes, 92, of Texas City passed away Friday, February 28 in Houston.

Funeral services will be 10 A.M., Wednesday, March 5 at the Emken Linton Funeral Home in Texas City. Burial will follow at Forest Park East in Webster. Visitation for Mr. Hughes will be from 68 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Hughes was born September 12, 1921 in Alabama. He was retired from the Texas City Police Department and was a veteran of WW II. He was a member of Texas City Masonic Lodge 1118 AF AM, the El Mina Shrine and was a survivor of the 1947 Disaster in Texas City.

He was preceded In death by his wife, Jewel Juanita Hughes daughter, Joyce Ann Dazey sonsinlaw Lloyd Robert Dazey, Sr. and Walter Dale Slawson and grandchildren, Bonnie Bee Slawson and Lloyd Robert Dazey, Jr.

Survivors include his daughters Judy Slawson and Debbie Shoemaker Minor and husband, Eddy sister, Annie Ruth Matthews nine grandchildren fourteen great grandchildren numerous great great grandchildren and other relatives.
